Manly McHardchest!

Honestly, the pictures speak for themselves. (!!!)

Super Sassy

I am so in love with this apron! The print is hilarious, and it contrasts great with the deep teal backing and ties. The pockets came out just the way I envisioned, and the little bit of the inside you see is the same cheery yellow gingham that I made the ruffle out of.

SO MAGICAL!!!!

Another amazing Alexander Henry print! ("Storybook Pony" in pink) The backing and ties are a sweet baby blue, and the pockets are pink with a lacey overlay. The ribbon ties add the perfect outlandishness!

Cranking out the Aprons!

This past July, the Kitchen Sink Society put on "Handmade Heatwave" at Geno's Rock Club. It was a TON of work, and I spent so much time working, I had almost no time to take pictures. These are from the camera on my mac:

Love, love, LOVE this apron!!! I was totally stuck on what to do with this lime green animal print. I took the question to facebook, and amongst the suggestions from my amazing friends, hot pink lace instantly struck me. Luckily, I found some on ebay. So rock and roll!!

SHARKS EFFING RULE!!!! This fabric is ridiculous! The different red tones are intense and some of the sharks have bloody spit in their mouths! So awesome. I softened it up with the black lace for the perfect contrast.

Not the best photo, but this is a Virgin of Guadalupe fabric that I received as a gift. The pocket is a diamond shape, with the top corner held down with a pretty pink rose button.

More to come!!

Remembering the potholder weekend....

My cohort () and I signed up to attend the South End Open Market this summer. In preparation, I spent a weekend last spring churning out potholders. I made 2 or 3 sets of each.

Pegasus and Unicorns with pink backing.

SHARKS!!

Mixtapes. I love how geometric this print is!

Boomboxes yo!

Busy, busy busy!

2 events coming up!

Saturday May 23rd, I will be at the Tower of Song Festival in Congress Park. The festival runs from 12-7. (rain date: Sunday the 24th)

On Saturday June 13th, I'll be at the Bayside World Market and Fair, which is at Portland High School from 11-4. I'll have one of the street tables.

I have been crafting my little fingers to the bone, with no time for photos! Hopefully, I'll get some on Saturday when everything is on display.

Fresh, new awesome!

I have wanted to make tissue box cozies for a while now, but was stumped on how to make them interesting/awesome.

The answer came to me in a flash: embroidery!

Taking yet another antitquated handicraft and turning it on it's head in my own unique way.

Just in time for the swine flu brew-ha-ha, my pandemic-chic tissue box cozie! (Also, experimenting with taking pictures on my porch)

And, a close up on the embroidery:

To be honest, this embroidery began after a viewing of "28 Days Later", but it's as topical as I've ever been, so I'm running with it.
